According to the latest announcement by core developers, the pectra upgrade of atherium is set to live on Holeski and Sepolia Testnet in February and March.
On 6 February, Etreum (Eth) core developers confirmed that the Pectra upgrade would be launched on 24 February 2025 and Sepolia on 5 March 2025 on Etreum Test Networks Holesky.
If all goes well, the high anticipated network update will be live on the mennet in April. The first deadline was the mannet in March
Tim Beeco, an Etharium Core Developer and Atherium Foundation Support lead, Shared Timeline details on X. According to him, Holesky is set to thorn on Slot 3710976, while the sepolia slot will be fork on 7118848.
The developer said, “Sepolia goes smoothly, we will choose a mannet slot on ACD call on 6 March.”
March 6, 2025, when all core developers of the atherium are determined to complete and finalize a decision on the menet launch of the pectra.
Pactra is expected to introduce eight major reforms in the atherium network, with the major focus areas as wallets and verification. The most notable proposals include EIP-7702 and EIP-7251, which aims to increase safety and efficiency for these components.
The declaration of the dates of Holesky and Sepolia Testnet for Pactra, and a potential mannet launch brings the first major upgrade to the atherium since the Denkun upgrade in March 2024. The Denkun layer 2 was significant in reducing the gas fee significantly.
If the pectra becomes live according to the plan, the next focus will be the expected Focus in Q4.
