Wallet provider warns scam plans

Metamasks has issued a warning to users about misleading token plans, which has falsely claimed to have a false claim with the platform, emphasizing that there is no official Metamsk token at present.

Metamaska, the leading web3 wallet provider, alerted its community on March 3, which is about the non-existent Metamsk tokens promoting the fraud schemes. The forum stressed that any claims suggesting the existence of Metamaska tokens are false and potentially harmful.

This warning announces a significant update of Metamaska on 28 February that will introduce bitcoin (BTC) and Solan (Sol) smart contract capabilities in its network. Scammers can try to take advantage of this development.

Metamaska has earlier addressed similar dangers. In March 2023, the platform dismissed rumors of a Metamaska token aircraft, warning that such claims were not only false, but also dangerous, as they had created opportunities for scammers and fishing attacks.

Crypto scams increase

Scams associated with fraudulent tokens have increased, malicious actors have assured users to invest in fake assets that mimic the iconic projects. These schemes result in significant financial losses for investors.

In particular, the entrepreneur Mark Cuba lost about $ 870,000 after allegedly interacted with a compromised Metamasa Wallet. Additionally, Metamasks users are targeted by address poison attacks, where scammers manipulate transactions to users to trick users in sending money to fake addresses.
