After a brief acquisition by unknown assailants, pump.fun acquired their X account control.
Hackers briefly accessed the X page of the Solana Mem Launchpad, which is using the platform to promote scam meme tokens in a series of posts.
Famous blockchain explorers Zachxbt were first warning users about breech, advising traders not to click on any link or trade meme tokens posted by the attackers.
In one of the posts now, hackers attempted to cheat investors in buying a fake pump. Governance token. The platform does not have a native token and only facilitates quick construction of solana-based cryptocurrency.
Pump.fun had achieved complete control of his X account by the time of publication. It is not clear whether the meme traders suffered any damage from the incident.
Recurring issues
This was not the first social media hack orchestrated by the same bad actors, ZachxBT noted on its official Telegram channel. “Pumpdotfun X Account Agreement is directly related to Jupiter Dao Feb 2025 and Dogwifcoin Nov 2024 x account compromise.” Zachxbt wrote.
Many X accounts have been kidnapped in recent months. The attackers usually control popular accounts, post fraud contract addresses, and try to steal money from unheard users.
“This is probably not the fault of pump fun or Jupiter teams,” zachxbt notedAccording to the Blockchain investigator, it is likely that “the danger is the actor social engineering employee, in which fraud documents/emails or a panel are being exploited.”
