Somnia, a high-speed, atherium-component blockchain, today launched its Shannon Testnet as part of their push towards mannet readiness.
In the name of the information theory pioneer Cloud Shannon, the Testnet follows the Dawnnet benchmark that exceeds 1 million transactions per second (TPS), providing developers a scalable platform for real -world applications.
Shannon Testnet introduced several third-party verifications and staking protocols, increasing decentralization and security. During the Devnet testing, it processed more than 3.6 million transactions at 300,000+ unique addresses, with sub-second finality and sub-saint transactions fees.
Somnia founder Paul Thomas said in a statement by Crypto, “Shannon Testnet is a completely on-chain ground for the future.” This launch offers developers an opportunity for stress-testing applications under real-world conditions.
Somnia’s website underlines the rollout of the Testnet, which is supported by the infrastructure partners for the Seemless App Payment. The company claims that its multistream unanimously enables parallel transactions execution without recession, making Shannon become a major test ground for mob resistance.

The tech stack of Somnia includes a high-speed database with quick sequential execution and ICEDB, nanosecond-reading/writing speed.
