Its impact on irregular crypto mining and power grid is an increasing concern for Russia. In response, Russia launched a national registry for crypto miners in November 2024. The miners were required to present their information, including wallet addresses, the purpose of the government is to bring the industry under official inspection. However, while the registry aims to prevent illegal energy consumption, the miners are afraid that if their data is leaked, they can become a goal for international sanctions.
